Genesis magazine has announced that it has officially disqualified Daisy Duxxx, who was previously selected as a monthly winner for its September 2005 issue (due out July 5), from its 2004/2005 Sex Star Hunt competition.
Sex Star Hunt (www.sexstarhunt.com) is an erotic photo contest open to all "amateurs," which spelled out in the contest rules, describes applicants as "not having appeared as paid performers in magazine layouts or professional videos.”
"In light of Ms. Duxxx's statements on a KSEX interview with Wankus this past weekend, it came to our attention that Daisy misrepresented herself as an amateur according to our contest rules," Dan Davis, editor-in-chief of Genesis, said in a statement. "To further that, the type of video in which she appeared in is against what not only the staff here at Genesis consider 'entertainment,' but also goes against what the entire adult industry tries to project as quality and tasteful adult material. Unfortunately, since we work with such a long lead time, our September issue with her layout and October bonus issue with the year-end contest wrap-up had already gone to press when this situation arose."
Duxxx, a Georgia-based adult performer in the industry for less than a year, created a furor last week during an appearance on KSEX.com radio. Duxxx described how she had killed a buffalo with a hunting rifle for Florida-based Sexy Outdoor Sports, then was videotaped by the company having hardcore sex with a man next to the dead animal. Stung by the controversy, which included condemnation of Sexy Outdoor Sports by various adult industry animal lovers, Duxxx and Miami-based Alternative Modeling, which had supplied her to Sexy Outdoor Sports, have since vowed not to do business with the company again.
The Genesis Sex Star Hunt contest has been running for well over a decade and was originally called "Friends & Lovers." After Tera Patrick was signed as the magazine's publisher in 2004, the contest was re-branded as Sex Star Hunt. The contest, which runs monthly in Genesis, invites all amateur models to compete for what is currently over $80,000 in cash and prizes, which includes a $10,000 grand prize for the monthly finalist selected as the Genesis Sex Star of the year. Some of the previous winners and entrants who have made their debuts in the contest and have gone on to adult stardom have included Exotica, Lacey Logan, Cynder Moon, European starlet Jamie, and Vivid Girls, The Love Twins.
