HOPING CANDIDATES ATTACK NET PORN

Presidential candidates are being asked to pledge that they'll attack Internet pornography.

The pledges were to be delivered to both Republican and Democratic presidential hopefuls the day before the Iowa Republican straw poll, according to the Evansville Courier & Press.

Conservative family groups such as Concerned Women for America, the American Family Association, Coral Ridge Ministries, Colorado Family Values and Americans for Truth About Homosexuality are some of the groups promoting the pledges. They say "traditional" families have been "mocked and demonized" for trying to protect children and society from Net porn and other activities they say undermines them.

Bill Horn, a spokesman for the groups, says they're not backing or calling for specific legislation, but hope the next president uses the prestige of his office to oppose Net porn and also oppose public school programs teaching tolerance for other than one-man/one-woman marriage.
