A hearing on a proposed 20-foot sign in front of an adult store has been delayed until June 2.
Attorneys for the Imagine That adult superstore told Circuit Court Judge Charles Littlehales that they would be unable to attend hearings this week and sought to postpone the hearing, according to the Lincoln City News Guard.
At issue is a 20-foot sign proposed for the store which some locals deem a blight on the community. Steve Waterman, pastor of the St. Peter the Fisherman Lutheran Church, said the sign was unneeded and would adversely impact the neighborhood.
In January, residents turned out to oppose the city permit issued to the store owners for the proposed sign during two separate Planning Commission meetings. But commissioners denied an appeal by Waterman to invalidate the permit.
In February, the city received three appeals on the commission’s decision to approve the sign.
