While Sin City contract-performer Hannah Harper has plenty of experience with magazines, having appeared in over 30 layouts, she’d never written for one until she agreed to pick up the pen for AVNInsider.com.
Harper’s column, called “Harper’s Bizarre,” will debut August first.
“The first column is an introduction to me, written in a funny way. It’s about where I come from and my progressions within the industry,” Harper told AVN.com. While her column has no set direction, readers can expect plenty of scoops on both Sin City and Direct Models, an adult agency that she runs alongside Ben English.
Harper, being British, admits that the American way of spelling words (leaves her a little uncomfortable, though she’s adjusted to it. It doesn’t feel right. It feels like it’s not proper. It’s going against what I was taught school,” Harper said.
The British tend to use “-our”, whereas Americans use “-or” (colour vs. color), use “-se” where we use “-ze” (analyse vs. analyze), and use “-ogue” where we use “og” (analogue vs. analog) among other spelling differences.
However, Harper doesn’t really expect too many problems with her spelling – she does after all have her computer set for American English. “When in Rome...,” she explains.
