Content producer Greg Gregory passed away Wednesday from an apparent heart attack. He was 56.
The photographer and videographer who sold content through his site, Greg-Gregory.com, was a staple in the online adult industry since 1995 but also shot for various print publications during the past 30 years. He recently attended the Florida Internext show, although he had been having heart problems for some time.
Gregory’s assistant, Ernie G, said Gregory had a small heart attack a couple weeks before the Florida show, suffered from high blood pressure and was under a lot of stress. Ernie G found Gregory at his home Wednesday night.
“He did not take my calls, which was not normal,” Ernie G said. “So the first chance I had to go check on him was later in the evening on Wednesday. I asked the office to let me in his place to check on him, and that’s when I found him on the floor next to his computer. He was working on locating a model for a scheduled shoot the next day.”
Gregory formed CV Productions with Paul Howserin the mid-1990s and later bought out Howser and formed Greg-Gregory.com. His company was gearing up to launch GregGregoryGallerys.com when he passed.
“He was very, very passionate about politics and discussions on religion and the adult industry,” Ernie G said. “Greg was the type of person that would never talk bad about someone else, even his worst enemies. He was like a father figure to me as well as a mentor in this biz. I will truly miss him.”
Gregory’s passing has been a shock to the industry, but he’ll be remembered as much for his kindness as he will for his talents.
“I’m truly shocked and saddened,” said Lori Z, owner of The Adult Broker. “Greg was one of the most talented and nicest people I’ve met in the industry. It was a pleasure to do business with him, but I also considered him a friend. I’ll miss his weekly phone calls.”
Said fellow photographer Vid Vicious, “It’s always a sad day when a creative talent such as him is gone.”
NichePay’s Nader Fasheh and Pete-KT were long-time business associates of Gregory and spent some time with him during this year’s Internext. It was Pete-KT’s first face-to-face meeting with Gregory.
“Needless to say, when the news hit the boards about Greg passing away, the whole NichePay crew was saddened,” he said. “I said to Nader, ‘This can’t be true. I just saw him two weeks ago and he was enjoying himself and having a good time.’
“Greg will be remembered in our hearts forever for the things he has done and the things he has said to us. I’m thankful for the one dinner we had together and only wish we could’ve enjoyed many more. I’m very glad I was able to meet him, as I can now say he was one of the nicest people I’ve met in the adult industry.”
Plans for the business are still being determined, but Ernie G said it would likely continue.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
