Goldner Launches Softcore Site

Frequent Playboy photographer David Goldner is launching a website devoted exclusively to his photography. The site, TheGoldnerGirls.com, showcases Goldner’s work in several full-color galleries of softcore erotic photography.

If the word “softcore” gives you pause, Goldner can relate.

“I’m really up against a big market, which is the [hardcore], triple-X stuff,” he tells AVNOnline.com. “My stuff has no sexual content in it; It’s all Playboy-style, glamorous erotica.”

So what’s the draw? Well, consider that Goldner’s work continues to grace the pages and covers of one of America’s most iconographic adult magazines, and the models love his work so much they are willing to pose for him at no charge.

Having been inspired by the work of pin-up artist Alberto Vargas, Goldner pursued a similar aesthetic in his own work. He quickly became a mainstay at Playboy, where his work has been featured on the cover of the magazine several times, including the magazine’s only fold-out cover of popular model Shannon Tweed. He began working on TheGoldnerGirls.com a little more than a year ago and will be appearing with three of his models and makeup artist Vera Vanguard on Playboy Radio Tuesday night to help launch the site.

He also is undertaking an auction on eBay.

“Since I started shooting these girls, everybody and their mother has said ‘I’d love to come to one of your shoots,’” Goldner says with a laugh.

The winner of the auction will, in fact, attend a Goldner Girls shoot, and later will have dinner with the models and Goldner.

Goldner says he hopes the site helps him build a brand.

“I would love to get more promotions for the girls and for myself,” he admits, like [going] to events featuring the Goldner Girls,” Goldner says. “I’m just trying to build the site and see where it goes. I’m not trying to compete with the triple-X stuff.”

Although the site offers a nearly comprehensive catalog of Goldner’s work, the photographer says that, in the end, it’s not just all about him.

“It’s not just a display of my work,” Goldner demurs. “Rather than just feature my work, I’m featuring the girls as well.”
