Gay adult talent manager David Forest and straight male performer Dale Dabone have teamed together to form Golden Circle Entertainment, a new management company to handle the careers of adult performers in both the adult and mainstream industry. Dabone will be Gold Circle Entertainment’s first client.
While Dabone was concerned about what people might say about him being represented by a man who is best known as a gay talent manager, he was so impressed by Forest’s drive that he decided the benefits would be greater than any snide remarks he might get because of it.
“I just like people who hustle and push. I like the way he pushes the people that he represents, “ Dabone told AVN.com “I was looking for someone who would actually push for me, for better jobs. Not someone who would just say, ‘Here’s who I have, who do you want?’
Forest notes he was a music agent in the late ‘60s, saying that Bill Graham, the concert promoter, and former super agents David Geffen and Sue Mengers had trained him to promote clients and showed him the right way to push talent. “You don’t just put a picture on a Website and say ‘Okay, here’s our talent roster,’” he said.
Forest will handle all of Dabone’ straight XXX bookings, directing, in-store signings, and will also try to land Dabone a spot on an adult cable series. In addition, he’ll try to find Dabone mainstream work as an actor, a stuntman, or a musician.
“I’ve been a musician all my life. That’s my first love, that’s the reason I came out here, to play drums. I went to a school of the arts to learn how to play drums, guitar, and piano,” Dabone said. “I don’t ever want to close the books on music. I’ve layed down a lot of tracks for a lot of bands. There’s more to me than just the ability to get hard and fuck.”
“Dale wants to do everything. He wants to perform, he wants to direct, he wants to do everything,” Forest told AVN.com. “And he can do everything.”
