GoFundMe Started to Aid Industry Production Veteran James Nono

LOS ANGELES—A GoFundMe campaign has been launched on behalf of industry production veteran James Nono, a grip and lighting director who has been a popular presence on adult sets and worked on many major productions.

The fundraiser was started by Christophe Pettus, who said on the GoFundMe page:

“James Nono is a legend. He has worked as a grip and lighting director for decades. You've seen his work in movies, even if you did not realize it. He is also universally considered one of the nicest men to have ever worked in the industry.

“Now, he and his wife Stephanie need your help.”

To add to an already difficult situation, Nono’s wife Stephanie Ross (who is also an industry veteran as former Head of Production for VCA in the 1990s), is at home recovering and unable to work after suffering a recent stroke.

AVN Hall of Fame director Brad Armstrong additionally commented to AVN, “This double blow has resulted in a serious financial crisis for them and they are currently at risk of becoming homeless. They need help with rent, utilities, and other life essentials. He has been a friend and champion of our industry for years.

“I urge directors, actors, actresses and company owners it’s now time for us to give back. If you’re able, please donate to the GoFundMe Page set up for James by friend and colleague Christophe Pettus. Show ‘NoNo’ and Stephanie how much they’re loved and appreciated,” Armstrong said.

Veteran actress Dana Vespoli shared the GoFundMe link and posted, “James Nono has dedicated his life to the film industry, but now he and his wife Stephanie face a tough battle. With health issues and financial strain, they need our support. Please consider donating or sharing to help them avoid homelessness. Every bit counts.”

A goal of $7,000 has been set to assist with medical and other expenses, of which $950 had been reached by this writing.
