VALENCIA, Calif.—Girlfriends Films is using its June selection for its charity program to celebrate Caitlyn Jenner and her gender transformation. A $1,000 donation will be made to the National Center for Transgender Equality in Jenner’s name. The adult studio is also calling upon other companies in the industry to match its donation and help support the transgender community.
The National Center for Transgender Equality was founded in 2003 by transgender activists who recognized the urgent need for policy change to advance transgender equality. Providing a powerful transgender advocacy presence in Washington, D.C., NCTE is composed of a team of hard-working staff members and supported by a nationwide community of transgender people, allies, and advocates with an extensive record of winning life-saving change for transgender people.

The adult entertainment industry has recently become famous for its very public offers to celebrities, tempting them to appear in movies for a large amount of money—sometimes as much as $1 million. Celebrities targeted include Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Tara Reid, Pipa Middleton, Rob Gronkowski, and more.
Last week, Girlfriends Films took a different approach, sending Caitlyn Jenner’s representatives a letter giving her the opportunity to direct or appear in an erotic educational movie raising awareness for the transgender community. All profits from the film would be donated to a transgender non-profit of Jenner’s choice. The offer was politely declined via email by Jenner’s publicity team.
“Everyone at Girlfriends Films was inspired by Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover and her story,” said Girlfriends Films President Moose. “We were very sincere in making our movie offer in order to help bring even more awareness, support, and money to the transgender community. However, we also want to applaud Caitlyn’s transition through our charity program.
“I invite our friends and colleagues in the adult industry to join us in donating to National Center for Transgender Equality,” added Moose. “We in the adult movie-making industry have been judged and marginalized by society for decades and have great compassion for other individuals who are fighting for acceptance and tolerance.”
Girlfriends Films is the premier lesbian adult studio in the world, and for over a decade, it has worked to make a difference through a sex-positive message of pleasure, love, and acceptance, as well as through philanthropy and outreach. Girlfriends Films’ motto, “For Fine Folks with Good Hearts & Curious Minds,” has appeared on the cover of every movie the company has ever made.
Each month, Girlfriends Films donates to a charity selected by its employees, performers, directors, and adult industry principals. In 2014, the Girlfriends Films Charity Program donated over $20,000 to a wide array of philanthropic organizations, from medical institutes to animal sanctuaries. Charities supported in 2014 included Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Movember Foundation, Stand Up to Cancer, National Alliance to End Homelessness, and more.
