HOLLYWOOD - Girlfriends Films celebrated its 100th DVD release, Imperfect Angels, with a party on Friday night at Vice in Hollywood.
Several executives from Girlfriends Films joined cast members from the movie and numerous adult stars at the event which started off with an open bar sponsored by Monte Cristo Rum.
Girlfriends Films president Dan O'Connell said the company was also quickly approaching another milestone, its 500th sex scene. Girlfriends shoots lesbian movies exclusively with the motto, "Make films for women and the men will follow."
The company's signature series, Women Seeking Women, is already at volume 40. On Friday night Imperfect Angels' Veronica Rayne, Daisy Layne and Dana DeArmond were among the starlets enjoying drinks and the lively music mix from DJ Morty, who was brought in special for the event. Girlfriends Films regular Alexis, aka Savanah James, remarked, "Dan is my favorite director to work for."
Several performers were spotted in the crowd, including Vivid Girl Sunny Leone and Shane's World exclusive Casey Parker, Nicki Hunter, Brooke Haven, Gianna Lynn, Taylor Wane, Shy Love, Jenna Presley, Sasha Hollander, Jack Vegas, Daniel and Amber Peach. Meanwhile, Spearmint Rhino Films producer/director Dyanna Lauren and rocker-turned-adult film director Dave Navarro added to the evening's star power, while newcomers Kenzi Marie, Britney Amber and Emy also made the rounds along with Versatile Media Group's April Storm. Earlier in the day Storm and dozens of adult performers raised money at the 10th annual Skylar Neil Memorial Charity Golf Tournament.
T.J. DiReda, director of marketing and promotions for Girlfriends, put the event together and made sure all the party-goers left with gift bags that included a poster and DVD of Imperfect Angels.
