Genesis Magazine has named Vivid Girl Tera Patrick the top woman in porn this year, placing her on top of the list for "Porn's Hot 100," an annual supplement that was included free with the July 2004 edition of the magazine, which hit newsstands across the world yesterday.
Patrick is the masthead publisher of Genesis, though not involved in the day-to-day operation of the magazine and says she had nothing to do with the creation of the list.
"I'm not really bothered about it or what anyone says about it, I could really care less," Patrick told AVN.com. "This isn't a popularity contest for the industry, I'm out here for my fans and to make a lot of money for my family."
Yesterday was also the release of Tera, Tera, Tera the first video released by Teravision, the studio owned by Patrick and her husband Evan Seinfeld.
Seinfeld said, "Tera has the thought power not to give a fuck [about gossip], and when people find out that Tera, Tera, Tera is selling like water in a drought, they'll see how popular she is."
Each year the Genesis' editorial staff and various industry insiders compile a list of the top adult video actresses in the business for the previous year. The rankings are determined by a variety of factors such as: overall popularity of each individual starlet, the number of films made during the year, personality, looks, grace, crossover potential, mainstream appeal and the heat of her performances.
Genesis Executive Editor Daniel Adams said the magazine is now strictly geared toward porn stars.
"Tera really embodies the word porn star," Adams told AVN.com Wednesday. "I think she's one of the most beautiful girls in the history of the adult business. She's been through a lot and she came out on top. There's a lot of buzz about her new contract with Vivid. Her scenes are always hot, and we felt she was the perfect choice of all the people we used to vote. I'm not saying any of the other girls are not equally as deserving. Her mainstream notoriety was one of the different factors, and she just scored."
Without revealing their order, the top ten also includes Vivid Girls Jenna Jameson, Briana Banks, and Tawny Roberts, Adam & Eve exclusive Carmen Luvana, Sin City's Hannah Harper, Club Video exclusive Gina Lynn, JM Productions exclusive Ashley Blue, Jill Kelly Productions exclusive Jenna Haze, and the only non-contract performer to make the top ten - Belladonna.
Previous winners of the top spot include Jenna Jameson, Houston, Chloe, and Inari Vachs.
