It's been said often that "Those gays sure do know how to party." That statement couldn't have been more relevant than at the GAYVN Summit, where a series of Summit-related parties kept show attendees busy mixing and mingling.
Following Friday's State of the Industry seminar, Falcon Studios hosted a cocktail reception in the second-floor foyer of the W Hotel's XYZ bar. The well-attended event attracted a slew of recognizable porn performers from the Falcon stable, as well as from other studios in the business, and gave many webmasters a chance to chat up some of their favorite video producers.
"It's like a smorgasbord of the world's best dick in here," remarked one guest, who was attending the party as a guest of an industry player. "I've never seen so many hot guys in one place."
Following the Falcon party, some guests attended Colt Studio's 40th anniversary party at the company's studio space in the city. Others grabbed taxis and headed to Kink.com's weekly happy hour at the Web company's newly acquired space, the former San Francisco Armory: a massive abandoned building consisting of several stories and hundreds of rooms. Most guests hung out on the lower floor, where a mobile saloon carted some around the room while a DJ spun tunes on turntables. Tours of the facility were given during the party, which has become a weekly fixture for locals and which lasted well beyond its scheduled midnight ending time.
Then it was on over to the EndUp Bar & Club, where RentBoy hosted its own party to celebrate the first-ever GAYVN Summit. Those on the guest list were provided access to a VIP room where drinks flowed freely and the music was loud. Indeed, it seems the GAYVN Summit proved another common saying to be true: There's just no rest for the weary.
