Gaystreet.net Launches New Version

Gay hook-up site Gaystreet.net has gone and had a facelift. With the launch of version 2.0, Gaystreet hopes to lure even more users with a bevy of new and improved features.

Launched Tuesday, Gaystreet 2.0 offers an instant messenger feature, buddy lists (available in an invisible “stealth mode”), advanced search options, message boards, blogs, user comments, and a rating system. These new features are in addition to the site’s state-of-the-art internal/external mail system, which sends users emails whenever somebody is interested in hooking up with them.

Members now can upload as many as 12 photos of themselves and indicate exactly what they like using the site’s extensive profile builder.

According to the site’s publicist, Jason Sechrest, Gaystreet 2.0 represents a milestone in gay hook-up site development, particularly for its ease of use and convenience factor.

“Community sites are huge right now,” Sechrest tells AVNOnline.com. “Everybody is blogging and chatting and making friend requests and creating buddy lists, and they’re doing it all on a whole bunch of different sites. So, to bring all of these features that you love about all of your community sites to one common ground and have it be gay themed for gay people, made by gay people, is very hot—and not only getting all of those features, but getting them better than anywhere else. The technology that they’re using is above and beyond a lot of the technology I’ve seen used on other community websites.”
