Gay webmasters converged upon the rooftop of Fiesta Cantina in West Hollywood to celebrate the success of last week’s Webmaster Access convention. Sponsored by Cybersocket magazine and taking place just a few hours after the closing of the convention, the party offered webmasters the opportunity to mingle with each other and a few notable porn personalities—and get a little rowdy.
The gathering included representatives from Sureflix (director of business development Warren Wickens); Bedfellow.com (Karl Edwards); NakedSword.com (president Tim Valenti); GlobalMalePass.com (marketing director Ryan Elizalde); BukkakeJackpot.com (vice president Eric Criswell); JustUsBoys.com (Andrew Yancey); PrideBucks (Rainey Stricklin); BrainCash.com (Mathieu Nolet); CCBill (Patrick Curran); and, of course, Cybersocket (president Morgan Summer and others). Porn personalities such as stars Jason Hawke, Jeremy Jordan, Michael Knight, former Rascal Video exclusive Robbie Angel, and GayVN Award-nominated director Thor Stephans (Sex Pyscho, Haunted House on Sex Hill) also enjoyed the open bar and conversation.
While there was relatively little in the way of party drama (the most notable incident was an obviously inebriated Robbie Angel loudly trumpeting his success in performing fellatio on somebody in the bar’s restroom), the party did offer something in the way of a reprieve from all the government-related drama going on these days. When asked what’s going on with the injunction filed against the proposed 2257 regulations, the Free Speech Coalition’s Tom Hymes said, “It could be any day now, or it could be a while down the road. Obviously, we are hoping for resolution sooner or later.”
For some, the party provided an opportunity to hang with some of their colleagues and contemporaries, as well as the chance to talk shop. GlobalMalePass.com marketing director Ryan Elizalde (who said he convinced JustUsBoys.com’s Andrew Yancey to feature an article on the JUB site about an upcoming GMP DVD) said, “It had been since the last Vegas show [that] I saw anyone in person. It was nice to catch up with some of them. I was able to get a little business done and have a good time.”
Elizalde wasn’t the only one. Indeed, one look around the rooftop – which was littered with cocktail glasses, porn magazines, and brochures and flyers featuring naked men – and anyone could tell that a good time was most definitely had by all.
