There has been a change in accommodation for The Nooner Show: The cable and Internet pay-per-view show that’s equal parts live sex, call-in, and educational, has moved from lunchtime on weekdays to the weekend nights, and is now known as Spice Hotel.
The new format began June 4, airing from 9 p.m.-12 midnight PDT/12 midnight-3 a.m. EDT, according to producer Bud Lee.
He told AVNOnline.com the changes were made on behalf of finding the show's best audience.
"When we first started, we were hoping we could pull an audience to a time of day that wasn't real strong as far as pay-per-view buying goes," he said. "And, with summer coming on, and the way things were going about the calls we got, if you have your choice between 9 a.m. and noon, I don't want to sit around and watch pay TV.
"So I went to my bosses and said, hey, we're not really bringing the audience to us, let's take us to our audience," he continued. "We're looking for couples, and the biggest buy times are Friday and Saturday from nine at night until three in the morning. Which gives us midnight to three on the East Coast."
"I think, demographically, the nighttime tends to be a little more viewed than in the morning when people are at work," said Barrett Blade, who co-hosts a segment with Holly Hollywood. "With the weekend, we're kind of in a weird spot. We can get the people before they're going to the clubs or after they get back."
Blade described the segments with himself and Hollywood playing "usually, the dumb blondes. Well, our show's a lot more, we're just very lighthearted and fun. We're not as serious as maybe other people might be. We take it all with a grain of salt and we enjoy it."
And he said the pair hasn't changed much of their style since the show moved to weekends. "We're running with pretty much the same program," he said. "Me and Holly pretty much come up with things on the spot. We're into role playing, we don't have a set formula. We like just to do it as we feel it, catering to the caller. Whatever makes the caller happy makes us happy."
The show lineups are as follows: Julian and Alexis Malone or Shy Love followed by Barrett Blade and Holly Hollywood Friday nights; Dee and Mr. Marcus followed by Julian and Shy or Alexis Saturday nights; and, Holly and Barrett followed by Dee and Mr. Marcus Sunday nights. The show is available through DirecTV and selected cable providers.
