LOS ANGELES—The friends of industry veteran David Diamond are encouraging his colleagues and industry members to support a GoFundMe campaign to help pay for his medical expenses following a massive heart attack he suffered on May 16.
Diamond, who is sales manager at Girlfriends Films, suffered severe cardiac arrest while out cycling on the Pacific Coast Highway last Saturday. He was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery and is now facing a long road to recovery along with extensive medical expenses.
So far, the campaign has netted $2,385 of the $5,000 fund-raising goal.
Janet Tamborelli, a longtime industry friend of Diamond, set up the GoFundMe effort and is encouraging industry members to join in support of the campaign.
“His injuries are extensive and his recovery will be long and on going. Thankfully, he is a fighter and everyday he is making small strides,” Tamborelli said on the GoFundMe page. “David is so very near and dear to so many of us and all have reached out asking how to help. I have set up this Go-Fund Me on behalf of David's family to help with his speedy recovery and the extensive medical bills. I am hoping this will ease some of his stress while he recovers and offers us a chance to help a very special friend.”
