Fresh Faces: Ravyn Alexa

This feature appears in the May issue of AVN magazine.

LOS ANGELES—Ravyn Alexa began dabbling with adult content when Tumblr was still viable.

“Back when the Internet was beautiful,” Alexa remembers.

Then the native of Springfield, Va., worked as a stripper in Baltimore for a span before dancing in D.C., Miami, San Francisco and then Portland, Oregon.

Now a resident of Seattle, Alexa signed with ATMLA after the AVN Expo and plans to make more regular visits to L.A.

Her on-camera career started with camming.

“I just started jerking off online, like most of us, in the 2020 OnlyFans peak, and then I met a few producers like Casey Calvert, and I did some Kinky Bites for Kink.com over that time period,” Ravyn says. “It was their at-home series during the pandemic period. I did that with a friend. I then took time off for the past two years, and now I’m back. I needed a break.”

Since coming back, she’s become part-owner of Collective Corruption, “a hardcore BDSM website. It’s been nominated for AVN Awards.”

She wrote and directed a scene for the site titled “Experiments in Functionality” featuring herself and Mickey Mod.

“It was a latex-doctor scene, with him experimenting on his new latex doll. I was wearing clear latex and he was fucking into it, and fucking into the mask that I was wearing. It looked kind of like an X-ray. It was so cool.”

Alexa says her favorite part of working in the industry is “getting to be creative and sexy.”

“One of my favorite niches is heavy fantasy,” she says. “I like werewolf porn and elf stuff. Anything fantasy and sci-fi fiction I’m really into. I also like being hot. That’s fun.”

She elaborates on what she thinks is sexy.

“I think getting into porn helped me have better sex, because there’s a way that performers communicate with each other: ‘What are you into? What are you not into? What really gets you going?’ All the communication makes you better at sex,” she says. “I’ve definitely learned how to eat people out better. That’s fun. When you’re middle-tall—I feel like I’m middle-tall [5-foot-8]—you try and be shorter, but when you’re tall, which is like 5-9 and above, you want to be taller. You accept it.”

She usually doesn’t watch her scenes.

“Not very often,” Ravyn says. “There’s the awkwardness of having to look at yourself doing stuff. I love looking at my own photos, I do a lot of modeling so I look at those.”

Alexa bought a house last October, and “there are some old houses that are built really well.”

“My house is not one of those,” she continues. “There’s been a lot of tearing down of walls, and replacing walls. I’m learning electric work, there’s a book that I’m reading all about how to do electrical work. I really love power tools. I always wanted to learn how to build furniture. I love home DIY stuff. It’s my passion.”

She’s also into sewing.

“I used to make costumes, because I used to go-go dance,” Raven says. “I worked for the Electric Daisy Carnival and Insomniac Events, and they did a lot of costume production, but I would also make my own costumes. All of the fantasy stuff I liked. I was also a stilt walker.”

She describes herself as “a huge nerd.”

“I’ve been reading manga nonstop for the last few weeks. I suddenly stopped watching a lot of television, so I’ve been doing a lot of reading. I’ve also read five books in the last two weeks. Book-books, not manga. And I watch every winter. The Extended Edition. And I’m listening to the audiobook right now.”
