Fresh Faces: Dani Synclair

This feature appears in the May issue of AVN magazine.

LOS ANGELES—Office-receptionist-turned-performer Dani Synclair has a ‘y’ in her name “because I can. It’s a different kind of sin.” She started performing in late 2022, near the end of COVID. “I was dating a guy who had a foot fetish, and I started working foot fetish events. At one of those events, I met a Mistress who owned a dungeon, and I started doing professional BDSM stuff, and then I was, like, ‘Why not do more?’ and I decided to jump into the industry.

“It wasn’t much of a jump. Before this I was in The Lifestyle—swingers—and I always liked being watched. I just added a camera.”

She likes “meeting other creators and learning their journey.”

“I love meeting people and learning what got them into the industry: What’s their favorite part of the industry? I’m always learning things about people in this industry. Everybody starts for a different reason and it’s interesting how people decided to get into it. Did they fall into it? Was it something completely opposite of what they knew?”

Synclair, who is represented by Ideal Image Models, went to her first AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in January.

“I definitely didn’t know what to expect, my agency told me what I needed to pack and be prepared to be busy. There was the booth and the after-parties and the networking—and I had scheduled collaborations with other creators as well. I was staying in a rented model house off the Strip. They kept track of everybody.”

Her main commercial scenes so far are two for Ghetto Gaggers and one as-yet-unreleased scene for Elegant Angel with Isiah Maxwell: “He’s such a sweetheart. Absolutely love him.”

She signed with Ideal Image after a frustrating time self-booking: “It was so hard, trying to figure out what companies are good to reach out to. It was hard getting myself booked, which is why I don’t have many scenes. I did a collaboration with Rome Major, and he was how I got introduced to Tee Reel and Ideal Image. It’s better having an agent in my corner. It’s a lot easier and safer when it comes to booking, because they do the background checks.”

Her 5-foot-9 height makes her stand out: “I make it the first thing people read in my bio: Don’t expect me to be short. There are some people I’ve done collabs with, who reached out to me. We set it up, and I meet them, and I’m like, ‘Why are you shorter than me?’ I had to position myself lower. My hips weren’t ready, I should have stretched. [Laughter] But relaxation is important, too. I like taking naps. A nap a day keeps the crazy at bay. If I don’t get a nap, I’m grumpy.”

She’s looking forward to doing more commercial scenes. “I would like to pick a niche at some point. I’m enjoying trying different things.”
