Citing the overall package that the company put together, “a production comparable to any high end studio,” Freedom Distributing announced the signing of an exclusive domestic distribution agreement with Astrux on August 17. Superior female talent, unique locations, skillful photography and lighting: qualities sometimes taken for granted but when added up, these factors evident in a first film meant newly formed Astrux Entertainment had found its distributor.
“[Astrux’ First movie] Up in the Club is very well shot,” Freedom President Paul Interlandi told AVN.com. “They even used helicopter shots. They also shot in a very upscale club, and they do a girl on girl scene right on a three million dollar Mercedes.” Freedom’s National Sales Director Joey Strange applauded the company’s public relations flair. “Will Wicks, Lenny Stiltz and Phil Martin of Astrux Entertainment have shown a knack for showmanship by bringing the 3 million dollar Mercedes CLK-GTR roadster to Erotica LA, which turned heads and drew big crowds.”
The relationship between the two companies seems like a good fit from top to bottom. Says Interlandi, “The other thing I didn’t mention before is that their philosophy of porn matches my philosophy of porn. We look at women as smart, attractive people and not as objects to degrade. Their porn is positive; couples can watch it without feeling bad.”
Freedom will carry the title under its 109-feature Moonlight Entertainment designation, known primarily for high-end features. They will release 12 features in all, as many as one a month.
