Hustler magazine founder and publisher, Larry Flynt, is featured in the October issue of Swindle Magazine.
Flynt is among 50 notable personalities included in the magazine’s “Icons” issue. All were selected for their contributions to history and culture, the magazine said.
Among the personalities included are Bobby Seale, Chuck D, Hulk Hogan, Larry Flynt, Elvira, Slash, Tyra Banks, Judy Blume, R. Crumb, Alan Dershowitz and others.
The magazine, in conjunction with electronics giant, Motorola, plans to host a special dinner program in October in Los Angeles and New York, featuring the 50 personalities where conversation and the sharing of ideas will be encouraged.
“The common denominator for choosing an ‘Icon’ for the issue was to find those who are singular in their pursuit or their accomplishments. We weren’t looking for the most famous or the most successful, but those who are without peer, said the magazine’s Editor-In-Chief Roger Gastman.
“We feel that we have found 50 such individuals and we are honored to have them grace our magazine and we look forward to the unique events which will bring such disparate talents and personalities under one roof.”
Flynt founded Hustler in July 1974 after owning a string of strip clubs in Ohio. Despite overcoming several obscenity trials and an assassination attempt, Flynt went on to establish Larry Flynt Publications or LFP which he expanded into additional magazines, Internet portals, video-on-demand television networks, adult video production and distribution as well as strip clubs, a casino, adult novelty and clothing manufacturing operations.
