An Orange County, California firefighter was indicted today on federal charges for alleged possession and distribution of child pornography over the Internet, according to the Associated Press.
Tyrone Ganoe, 41, who works for the Orange County Fire Authority, was arrested this morning by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the story said.
According to AP, the child porn included graphic images of rape as well as bondage involving infants and young girls.
The investigation began as law enforcement authorities monitoring the Internet downloaded video files depicting graphic scenes of child porn using a peer-to-peer-sharing program known as LimeWire, said the wire service.
Authorities seized Ganoe’s computer and an examination of the hard drive allegedly found more than 70 images and movie files involving child porn, including one depicting a young girl being sexually violated by a dog, the Associated Press reported.
