Finding Magic: Inside the First MuseLink Retreat

LOS ANGELES—Joey Kim hosted the first-ever MuseLink Retreat in late November, calling the gathering the “in-person manifestation of the values of what MuseLink is.”

Five adult creators—Ashley Tea, Goldie Fawn, VitaminMia, Katelynn Koi and Claire Martin—traveled to a private villa in Canary Islands, Spain, joining Kim for a memorable week of camaraderie, collaboration and community as the MuseLink creator platform begins spreading its wings.

“I think the entire event felt very connective and different than anything I’ve ever experienced in an industry gathering,” Kim, who is entering her 16th year in adult entertainment, tells AVN.

“There were even moments where we cried—it was that connective—and we all left feeling so inspired and so moved.

“I feel like it’s a really big moment and one of the first displays of a creator-led future where we’re building together and creating together.”

Kim officially launched MuseLink—her all-in-one platform designed to address the most essential needs of the modern-day creator—in April 2025, taking the next major step in a passion project that has been more than five years in the making.

A career innovator who has become an accomplished live streamer, performance artist and entrepreneur, Kim built the platform for creators who want to monetize their content with multiple revenue streams.

The MuseLink Retreat turned into an international affair as an eclectic group of content creators made their way to the Canary Islands, the Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, where Kim has resided for the past five years.

“It was like all of us from everywhere,” Joey says. “Ashley’s from Canada, Goldie’s from the States, Mia’s from Australia, Claire is Polish and Katelynn is also Canadian but now living in Hungary, I believe, so it was a very diverse group of people.

“And with Goldie and Ashley, it felt like a reunion because we had known each other for so many years. We met for the very first time maybe over a decade ago at AVN. So to be together again it felt like, I don’t know, it felt really magical. Like we were coming back.”

Goldie Fawn, the seasoned dancer, aerialist and cam model who was the October 2020 AVN CAMStar, agrees.

“It was so epic and honestly, it was so like, I don’t know the word for it… I want to say iconic, but more than that, pivotal. Glorious,” Fawn says. “It feels like a big moment in the industry, too. It feels like we’re building community long-term because me and the girls are still in touch on our own, too, like each of them individually. And that feels so nice—connections that last.”

Ashley Tea, who is making her return to camming after a long hiatus, is a 12-year veteran creator and community builder who wrote The Camgirl Survival Guide, one of the earliest resources made by a cam girl for cam girls. She also hosts the “Professional Hot” podcast.

Ashley plans to come out of retirement with a special MuseLink stream on her birthday, Feb. 24. Kim calls her “the epitome of a creator-led future.”

“I have to say that the MuseLink Retreat, and spending time with Joey, and spending time with everybody was like really fucking pivotal for me, not just in my career, but because when I was there I felt so beautiful, and open, and inspired,” Ashley says. “I took that energy home with me and it’s been really transformational. Things have changed and it’s a good kind of change.”

Katelynn Koi, a writer, artist, dancer and creator, reflected on her experience in a Substack piece.

“The sets turned out stunning, and holy shit we were so in the moment, the erotic energy was super charged,” Koi wrote. “The way women are with one another behind closed doors is just so powerful that I almost cried about it over dinner last night. The untouched feminine vibe is so healing and uplifting.”

Koi continued, “The Canary Islands whilst sitting in a beautiful villa overlooking a pristine golf course, tucked between volcanic rock formations, and surrounded by five absolutely gorgeous women with BIG Goddess Energy! One of those moments where you wonder, ‘is this even reaaaaaal??!!!”

Kim tells AVN that VitaminMia is known for her sleep streams on MuseLink, where she challenges the norm as her audience interacts with tips “and loves the intimacy and authenticity of watching her drift in and out of dreams.”

“And she’s turned it into a uniquely successful niche,” Joey adds.

Claire Martin, meanwhile, is a Pilates instructor turned independent creator and cam model who taps into her background in movement to bring “a natural grace and body awareness” to her streams on MuseLink, Kim says.

“And everyone that came was in their thirties,” Joey notes. “So there was also like this maturity about it. We’ve kind of grown up together and we’ve experienced all the trials and tribulations and now we’re coming together with our accumulative knowledge and experience to build something that we need as creators.”

Kim tells AVN she extended an open invitation to all creators who would be interested in attending the retreat. She says one of her goals with MuseLink is to create spaces where creators “feel safe and can collaborate, be ourselves, inspire each other and feel seen.”

While at the retreat, the models did a group stream together for two hours, celebrating the three-year anniversary of the platform’s soft launch on Nov. 25, 2022, when Kim first streamed on MuseLink. They followed that with a yacht cruise.

“So it was like a little celebration of that and just of new beginnings,” Joey explains. “And in a way just to show them how the live streaming on MuseLink works and all the different things you can do.

“It was really fun. We also did things off camera and all of that happened organically. There was no set schedule.

“Everyone just flowed, which was beautiful.”

The muses also got together to stretch in the morning, meditate and go to the beach.

“There were a lot of deep conversations as well,” Joey continues. “There was a deep desire to get to know each other, learn from each other and help each other and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anything like that. It was so special.”

Kim says that while this retreat was a huge step toward where she wants to take the platform, it was only the start.

“I really believe that this is a movement,” Joey tells AVN. “I think this is something that is the future. I think the future is going to be collaborative, connective and creator-led and I see the momentum moving. Creators are craving this sort of space.”

Kim reveals she’s already planning the next gathering in Mexico after the AVN Show in late January.
