Extreme Associates 2.0 Recalls Taste That Ass DVDs for Corrections

In an unusual quality control move, Extreme Associates 2.0 is recalling DVDs of Lizzy Borden’s just-shipped Taste That Ass because of “visible digital glitches.”

In a statement, Extreme 2.0 owner Rob Black called the problem a minor one but said, “It is still unacceptable to us and does not live up to the standard of quality we strive for in our products.”

Black blames the defects on the DVD replicator, whose services have been terminated. “We are moving our replication to a different facility, KM Media Distribution, for all future releases,” he said.

The replicator, Black told AVN.com, is correcting the problem and new copies will be available Wednesday morning. The street date remains Thursday, September 16, and customers will have VHS copies that day; they will receive the corrected DVDs on Friday. “We’re going to next-day and two-day all orders,” Black said.

Black is asking distributors who have already received the DVDs to return them. Extreme 2.0 will issue UPS call tags so there’s no charge to the client, and the corrected product will be shipped immediately.

“It’s something that other companies might let slide, but I just couldn’t do it,” Black told AVN.com. “Because it’s Lizzy’s first movie [after a lengthy hiatus] and because we got criticized for our quality during the wrestling era [when they were preoccupied with their wrestling organization], that’s why we’re re-doing it.”

Black likened the glitches to “a bunch of dings on a new Mercedes. They won’t prevent it from working. If people wanted to sell them, they could, but I don’t want them to.”
