Online payment solution provider ePassporte is running a matching-funds tsunami relief campaign that has already raised $20,000.
The company is accepting online donations to help the relief effort stemming from the tsunamis that struck Thailand and East Africa on December 26, leaving 150,000 dead.
All donations made by employees of Epoch/Paycom, ePassporte’s parent company, are also being matched dollar-for-dollar by the company.
“As a company, we wanted to facilitate this initiative and like after 9/11, we decided to match dollar-for-dollar the donations of all the employees. Once we organized the donation effort inside our company by contacting the American Red Cross and creating a disaster relief ePassporte account, we extended our support outside our doors,” Paycom director of corporate affairs Esther Martinez told AVNOnline.com. “We decided to use ePassporte as a vehicle for people all over the world to participate in this disaster relief effort.”
ePassporte will match the first $25,000 collected, but will continue to encourage donations beyond that, Martinez said.
