In the wake of Jon Dough's tragic death earlier this week, several members of the adult community have come forward to offer assistance to his family, and to help pay for the actor's funeral expenses.
There is, however, one plan that has been set up whose sole purpose is to guarantee a college education for Dough's daughter, Breena Anuzek.
It's called a Fidelity 529 College Savings Plan, created by a small group of adult industry businesspersons who wish to be known only as "Friends of Jon Dough."
A "529 Plan" is a government-approved educational savings plan which allows anyone to provide for the higher education of any child. Some of the plan's features, according to the website HowStuffWorks.com, are:
•You pay no taxes on the account's earnings.
•The child doesn't have control of or access to the account -- you do. [Note: In this case, only the plan's administrator, Fidelity Investments, will have access to the funds until Breena is ready to enter college.]
•If the child doesn't want to go to college, you can roll the account over to another family member.
•Anyone can contribute to the account.
•There are no income limitations that might make you ineligible for an account.
•Most states have no age limit for when the money has to be used.
• If the child gets a scholarship, any unused money can be withdrawn without paying any penalty (just the tax).
More information on 529 plans is available at money.howstuffworks.com/529.htm
In the case of Breena Anuzek, the 529 plan is being administered through the Fidelity Investments Institutional Operations Company, Inc., located in Covington, Ky., and has been set up locally through the Wells Fargo Bank at 12251 Ventura Blvd. in Studio City.
According to one of the account's creators, contributions to this 529 plan are "the only way no one can touch the money, guaranteed, other than the child," and that if anyone doubts that statement, or has other questions or concerns about the plan, they can speak to bank officers Jonathan Durante (818-487-8932) or Nathaniel Yoo (818-980-6105) at the bank branch.
Those wishing to make contributions to Breena's Fidelity 529 College Savings Plan can do so by making a check or money order to "Fidelity Advisor 529 Plan FBO Breena Anuzek" and mailing it to:
The Fidelity Advisor 529 Plan
Fidelity Investments Institutional Operations Company, Inc. (FIIOC)
100 Crosby Parkway, KC1G
Covington, KY 41015
Please note in the check/money order "memo" area: "Acc't. #609355146."
Contributions may also be made in person at the Wells Fargo branch noted above, but if you wish to do so, please bring the above account information with you.
