The adult fetish auction site eBare.co.uk is celebrating its first birthday online.
The total ban on adult-related items on eBay spawned many new adult auction sites, most of which have since folded and closed. The success of eBare, with just over 2,000 new members in the past few months, is matched by the unique features it offers its members. For example, within the past few days, eBare auction sellers have been able to place a direct RSS feed from the main site into their own. They can choose from a number of customizable RSS options, including showing only their own auctions, showing all featured auctions, particular categories, or the most recent auctions placed. The feed can be customized to suit the seller’s own website design and it displays ever-changing content, which means that not only can sellers reach a wider audience, but their websites also are enhanced by constantly updating content.
EBare also offers a selection of individually themed stores and a members’ advertising program that can be controlled by the user himself.
“As far as we are aware, no other adult auction site offers these features to sellers,” an eBare representative says.
On Dec. 1, eBare announced the launch of a sister-site, Flogshop.com. Flogshop sex toys and lingerie auctions appeal to a more mainstream sex-toy and lingerie market. The new site is both tastefully designed and easy to navigate.
In addition to sex toys and lingerie, Flogshop.com also offers categories for sexy clothing and club wear, sexy boots and shoes, lotions and potions, and gifts for under £10 (approximately $17 USD). With Christmas coming, Flogshop can offer plenty of quality items from a range of different sellers to suit even the most difficult to buy for.
So what do eBare and Flogshop have in store for 2006? The owners are staying tight-lipped and would only confirm that additional enhancements such as video chat and extra auction features like video-clip upload are either in development or already underway for the coming year.
