Doghouse Digital: New Canadian Production Company from Industry Vets

Mile High Media has been releasing titles from some of the top studios in adult over the last 15 years for Canadian customers but now they’ve decided to reverse the balance of trade and start sending some original footage back to the States with their newly formed production arm Doghouse Digital.

Armed with the Canadian rights for Red Light, DVSX, JKP, Anabolic, and the recently-launched Cherry Boxxx Pictures, Mile High Media has been releasing 40 titles a month in both VHS and DVD formats for the last few years, so while the production arm is new, the forces behind it have plenty of experience. 

“You’ve got to own your own content,” Jon B, general manager of Mile High Media told AVN.com. “I’m as big as I can get in Canada. I want to go into the international market and the only way to do it is to shoot it yourself.” 

All Doghouse Digital productions will have at least six scenes and six girls and will be released simultaneously in both VHS and DVD formats.

Jon B has an innovative marketing plan to push his products – a DVD that contains scenes from approximately 30 videos that Doghouse Digital will release in the coming months. The DVD is free for distributors with hopes that they will pass it on to retailers, who are encouraged to give the DVD out as a free bonus rental when customers rent an ordinary DVD. 

“I’m already getting orders based on the DVD. People see something they like and they have the store pre-order our product,” Jon B said. 

Jon B is currently creating a second version of the Sneak Peeks Vol. 1 DVD that won’t have contact information for Mile High Media as the one currently in circulation does. 

However, it’s the geographical advantage in living so far from the rest of the adult industry in a city with a ready supply of sexually liberated women that Jon B is counting on to separate Doghouse from the pack. As possibly the only adult video producer in Montreal, Doghouse Digital gets their pick of women who were introduced to adult by the burgeoning adult Internet industry in Montreal. 

“The French-Canadian girls are all sex machines. I have girls coming in doing anal and d.p. on their first day and loving it. I think that their enthusiasm is important because that is what sells the tape,” Jon B suggested. 

Doghouse Digital also benefits from a production staff that earned their chops on Montreal’s adult Internet circuit.

The upstart studio already has 40 titles in the can, with 15 series in mind. Each series will be scheduled for a quarterly release, with at least one title being released every week. "Everything that can go wrong will go wrong so I like to stay around four months ahead of schedule," Jon B said. "We already have our first four titles sitting in a warehouse ready to ship."

Doghouse Digital’s first release, Natural Born Titties, is set to hit store shelves on October 15. “ We really hand pick our talent because we know what people want to see and that’s real nymphs who not only like sex, they need it,” said K9, who like all Doghouse directors for the moment uses a canine moniker.

On October 22, Doghouse will release their second series, Girly Gang Bang.  That title features June 2003 Penthouse Pet Lanny Barbie.
