DivXNetworks Inc. announced their inclusion in AlwaysOn's Top 100 Private Companies list. This is the second year in row that the video technology company, responsible for creating patent-pending DivX video compression technology, has made the coveted list.
"We're honored to be included in the AO100 for the second year in a row," said Shahi Ghanem, president of DivXNetworks Inc. "DivXNetworks is experiencing tremendous growth across all of our business units – the DivX community has grown to over 130 million global users and our partnerships with key consumer electronics companies, such as Philips, Samsung and JVC, bring over 20 million DivX Certified consumer electronics devices to market in 2004. AlwaysOn's concise and objective view helps validate our success."
Compiled by AlwaysOn and KPMG 1Start, the second annual list covers over 1,000 venture investors, investment bankers, top entrepreneurs and executives, who when surveyed nominated more than 700 companies to determine the AO100 winners. The full list can be found at www.alwayson-network.com.
"Private company innovation is incredibly strong and continues to flourish," stated AlwaysOn founder Tony Perkins. "Over 50 of last year's AO100 companies returned to this year's list, and 50 new companies have been selected."
The decision was based on companies that demonstrated leadership and innovation in two key areas: market traction measured by revenue or customer growth; and new approaches and technologies that are likely to cause significant change to existing markets and well-established players.
AO100 winners will be honored at a reception on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the AlwaysOn Innovation Summit, which takes place July 13 through 15 at the Frances C. Arrillaga Alumni Center on the Stanford University Campus. The event will feature over 60 keynote-level speakers, 15 sessions, 30 CEO pitches and two days of conversation about what's driving the next wave of innovation.
