Shortly after AVNOnline reported that the Colin Farrell/Nicole Narain sex tape was available online at DirtyColin.com, the site seemingly disappeared.
Former Playboy Playmate Narain’s representatives and Farrell’s publicist both claimed the site was shut down as a result of legal action.
“Our lawyers contacted [Farrell’s lawyer] Marty Singer and they were on it. They went down to the court and got an injunction,” said Sal Abbate, CEO of Internet Commerce Group (ICG), the firm poised to distribute the tape online with Narain’s permission pending legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, John Taylor, who is the registrant of DirtyColin.com according to the site’s Whois information, told Jossip.com that the site is down due to an overwhelming flood of traffic, “we put up a couple of offshore servers, and they were overwhelmed with visitors. Before we lost the servers, our traffic logs showed an immense response far larger than we had anticipated. To date, I have not received any legal representations from any party.”
He also told the celebrity gossip site that he was given the tape anonymously and didn’t know the individuals profiting from it.
CNN’s "Showbiz Tonight" reportedly showed some of the footage last night, although no one appears to have had much luck downloading anything from DirtyColin.com.
“We had people sign up for the web site. They started the download process and it just kept dying out,” Abbate said. “We downloaded, out of 105 MB, 200 KB of it and had technical people trying to look at the file. They had DRM on it through DRM Networks, so we weren’t able to view any of it because it was all code based.
The tape will likely be back online somewhere soon, as the parties Taylor represents are reportedly preparing additional servers for its distribution.
“It’s definitely not over,” Abbate said.
