Digital Playground is launching a Pirates display contest for retailers, giving them a chance to win a $10,000 prize.
“We are still experiencing an overwhelming response to Pirates and we want to keep the buzz going,” said company president Samantha Lewis.
“Our new R-rated version of Pirates will be hitting mainstream distribution channels on July 11, 2006 and this exposure will solicit a huge amount of brand new customers to the XXX version.”
To participate, retail stores must create an in-store Pirates-themed display featuring director Joone’s Pirates and submit photographs of the display to the company in order to vie for the grand prize or the $5,000 and $2,500 runner up prizes.
For rules and regulations, retailers may log onto www.digitalplayground.com/contest.
Entries will be accepted through July 31 with winners selected through fan voting on the Web site. The winners will be announced on Aug. 1.
“I want all of our retailers to capitalize on the hype that is generating from the upcoming theatrical release of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest in July. Our retailers can turn a huge profit with a special Pirates-themed display,” Lewis said.
The DVD, a co-production by Digital Playground and Adam & Eve, was originally released in September and shot on location in California and off the coast of Florida with high-definition, 24p cameras, earning it 11 AVN Awards, including Best Video, Best DVD, and Best High Definition Production, plus Best Director, Video, three acting awards and four others.
It tells of the mystical journey through haunted seas by a group of hotties who must battle skeleton warriors and a pirate whore.
Featuring lots of special effects and 10 sex scenes, the title features Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, Janine, Teagan Presley, Devon, Austyn Moore and Jenaveve Jolie.
The R-rated, three-disc Pirates release includes 16:9 widescreen format, 5.1 digital surround sound, visual F/X making-of, bloopers, trailer, and optional Spanish subtitles. It will be listed in the action/adventure section.
