Digital Playground Drops New MMA-Themed Production ‘Uncaged’

LOS ANGELES—Digital Playground today debuts Uncaged, a new limited series directed by Danny D.

“Aspiring MMA fighter Brianna Garcia (Megan Fiore) is a knockout, period. With her killer bod and fierce determination, she’s caught the eye of everyone at her gym. But it’s the gym’s owner, former MMA contender Chris Diaz (Juan Lucho), who sees something extra special in her. Taking her under his wing, Chris becomes more than just a passionate coach, and their chemistry ignites both on the mat and into the bedroom,” a synopsis reads.

”Brianna’s rise to the top of the MMA seems inevitable. With Chris by her side, she racks up a series of jaw-dropping wins that make her the talk of the town. But when sleazy promoter Jerry Finch (Danny D) dangles the opportunity of a lifetime—a fight against reigning world champion Hayley Logan (Angie Lynx)—Brianna’s dreams come at a serious cost. Hayley isn’t just a champion fighter, she’s Chris’ former lover,” the synopsis adds.

Uncaged is a real treat for DP fans,” said a Digital Playground representative. “Danny is an incredible director, as always, and the cast definitely punched above their weight.”

Danny D shared his thoughts on directing the all-star cast.

Uncaged was a great film for us to produce and shoot,” he said. “I honestly really enjoyed the grittiness of the whole project! We had to travel around to a few cool locations which can be stressful mid-production, but I feel it was worth the extra effort.”

Danny D described Fiore’s and Lynx’s transformation into MMA superstars.

“When Megan got the gloves on and started hitting the bags, we could all see she wasn’t a girl to be messed with,” he said. “Angie Lynx was a delight for the production, her attitude and acting were outstanding, plus had some crazy flexibility that she showcased during her scene. I could keep talking about Uncaged, as there are so many cool moments I will take away from this production! I really hope everyone enjoys it.”

The lead actresses talked about their experience on the Digital Playground set.

“Working for Digital Playground has been one of the best experiences in my acting career. I had the pleasure of working with a great team and professionals in the sector, and I’ve been able to learn a lot and grow as an actress,” Fiore said. “In this series, I mix work with pleasure because boxing is one of my great passions. My character, Briana Garcia, represented me a lot because she is a girl with a lot of character, strong but very passionate. Fans will surely love it.”

“Shooting a Digital Playground movie for me was an amazing experience—it was one of the movies I enjoyed making the most. The set was so nicely detailed, and everything was just so nicely done,” Lynx said. “What is so important for me while shooting is to feel comfortable and welcome, and this was exactly what I felt. We had so many laughs, and I was treated so well the whole time. It was my first scene with Danny. I had to admit I was a little nervous, but he took such good care of me, and I really enjoyed making the scene and I’m sure it will show. I hope fans will enjoy it as much as I did.”

The four-part production will roll out throughout January, with the first episode available now.
