Digital Playground Drops Greenwood Drama ‘Under the Knife’

LOS ANGELES—Digital Playground today begins rolling out Under the Knife, a new four-part feature directed by Ricky Greenwood starring Kayley Gunner, Mick Blue, Isa Bella, Maddie Wren and Vince Karter.

“Digital Playground invites you into a world where desire cuts deeper than any scalpel. Set behind pristine operating rooms and beautifully curated lives, Under the Knife peels back the illusion of perfection to reveal something raw underneath," a company synopsis describes. "Blair (Kayley Gunner) appears to have it all as the elegant wife of renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Max Mayer (Mick Blue). Blair is the culmination of Dr. Mayer's life work, she's beautiful, refined and admired—but her perfection comes at a cost.

“When Dr. Mayer secretly indulges in an affair with his seductive receptionist Lila (Isa Bella), Blair senses an emptiness she can’t quite understand. That void deepens when she meets Max’s new colleague, Dr. Andre Lemieux (Vince Karter), whose sensuality awakens something far more visceral. What begins as stolen glances and unspoken tension soon escalates into a passionate affair that strips Blair of her carefully sculpted servitude and reconnects her with her own horny desire,” the synopsis continues.

Gunner shared her experience stepping into the leading role.

“It’s a huge honor when you get asked to be part of a Digital Playground feature,” Gunner said. “I was so thrilled when I read the concept for Under the Knife. I felt for my character marrying a surgeon and aiming for perfection even though she was missing it in her marriage. The hardcore passionate scene with Vince Karter in the office was exactly the itch my character needed. I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the chemistry on the screen as much as I did.”

“Meanwhile, Andre wrestles with his conscience after a fleeting encounter with a gorgeous bartender (Maddie Wren), realizing that his connection to Blair is anything but superficial. As betrayals surface, the question remains, can Blair and Max survive as a couple, or has something irreversibly changed beneath the surface?” the synopsis concludes.

Blue added his thoughts on portraying “the perfect Doctor” and working with Ricky Greenwood.

“It was great to work with Ricky Greenwood again, he’s such a great director," Blue said. "The image and scenario he creates on set are just phenomenal. I loved playing the wide range in my character—from the know-it-all doctor to the intense anger that comes with betrayal. It was an honor to be part of this series for Digital Playground.”
