LOS ANGELES—Digital Playground has begun rolling out In the Bag, a new ‘70's inspired four-part feature directed by Ricky Greenwood, starring Elly Clutch, Addison Vodka, Willow Ryder, Isiah Maxwell and Scott Nails.
“When horny detectives Davis and DeSoto (Clutch and Vodka) find themselves one mistake away from being sentenced to desk duty, they’re handed the biggest case of their careers—solving the murder of a glamorous Hollywood actress. With temptation lurking around every corner and a cast of promiscuous suspects clouding the investigation, staying focused may prove harder than cracking the case itself,” a plot synopsis reads.
“In the Bag pulls viewers deep into a twisted world of obsession, jealousy and nonstop sex," the synopsis continues. "Along the way, Davis and DeSoto encounter a suspiciously loyal houseboy (Mike Ox), outrageous porn stars Leaky and Squeaky (Maxwell and Ryder), and eccentric filmmaker Lenny, brought to life by the legendary Scott Nails. As the investigation spirals further out of control, every encounter pulls the detectives deeper into a case where nobody can be trusted. Recklessly distracted by their own desires, Davis and DeSoto may finally be closer to solving the murder than anyone expected, if they can keep themselves out of trouble long enough to crack the case.”
Director Greenwood shared his thoughts on bringing In the Bag to life, saying, “In the Bag was one of the most fun movies I’ve had the chance to direct. Setting the story in the '70s, surrounded by muscle cars, loud fashion, and that whole gritty aesthetic of the era gave the film a unique energy from day one. It’s a wild buddy-cop comedy with a lot of personality and Elly Clutch and Addison Vodka absolutely crush it.
“I had worked with them before in smaller roles, but this was the first time they carried a movie together as leads, and they attacked it without hesitation. Their chemistry on set was natural from the start, and a lot of the comedy works because of how effortlessly they play off each other. They brought confidence, timing and a real sense of fun to every scene. After this film, I think everyone is going to realize what Digital Playground already knows: Elly Clutch and Addison Vodka are genuine stars,” he added.
Clutch reflected on what it was like to work with Vodka and Greenwood.
“Working with Ricky is always one of my favorite things. I am super passionate about larger projects and being able to really throw myself into a role, and his productions for Digital Playground really allow me to do that," Clutch said. “Addison and I are best friends in real life, so it was an absolute dream being able to work alongside her. She is so naturally funny and talented, and we have a great dynamic together in real life, and I think that will be tangible to our fans! Not only was this our first time working together, but it was also our first sex scene ever together—I can honestly say we made magic.”
Vodka echoes Clutch’s enthusiasm for In the Bag, commenting, “Working on this project with Elly was a very surreal experience for me. It means a lot to make something like this with your best friend. She is an amazing performer, and I was honored to be working alongside her. I think our friendship and banter really shines through in the movie and made the dynamic through our characters extra special. Our sex scene was the first time ever shooting together, the chemistry was phenomenal. I’m so proud to have done this with her and can’t wait for everyone to see it. Not everyone can say they’ve made a feature film with their best friend.”
