LOS ANGELES—Digital Playground today begins rolling out new holiday comedy The Holdup from director Ricky Greenwood.
Led by veteran actor Scott Nails, the cast of The Holdup also includes industry icon Christy Canyon, Katrina Colt, Anna Claire Clouds, Mikey Star, Charles Dera and Van Wylde.
According to a company synopsis, "The Holdup stars Scott Nails as Dennis, a roughed-up mall Santa with a knack for finding himself in all the wrong places. Dennis’s life is turning out to be an unhinged holiday disaster. Recently fired after getting caught in a steamy four-way with some horny Christmas elves—he’s in BIG trouble. With his ex-wife Kelly (Katrina Colt) demanding alimony and his hot landlady Rochelle (Christy Canyon) breathing down his neck for rent money, Dennis is desperate. In a twist of events, Kelly offers him a job playing sexy Santa at her Christmas party."
“The Holdup is the perfect mix of comedy, action and Christmas,” Greenwood said. “It’s like a mix of Bad Santa and a tiny bit of Die Hard. Of course, working with Scott Nails was amazing, but this time we had the incredible Anna Claire Clouds and the legendary Christy Canyon. I’ve always been a fan of Christy and working with her was a dream come true. I hope all of you will have a blast with this movie.”
Added Nails, “Making this was one of, if not the most memorable experiences I’ve ever had on a project. Honestly every single project I have done with Ricky Greenwood and Digital Playground have been unforgettable. It’s something special to work with a crew with such talent. They have set a whole new fire in me when it comes to projects like this.”
Canyon echoed Nails’ enthusiasm, commenting, “Working with Ricky Greenwood was such a throwback to the glamour years of my time in the business but maybe even a bit better! I love the energy and creativity Ricky brings to set. Damn where was Ricky in the '90s?!”
For Clouds' part, she offered, “I am so proud of the work we did on The Holdup. The cast and crew really pulled out all stops on this one! We had stunt coordinators, a snow machine, and so many other incredible additions that will absolutely make this movie a must watch this holiday! The cast and crew were cracking up on every take.”
