Adult performer Dick Delaware, whose real name is Aaron Brink, will fight in the co-main event of Rage in the Cage 60 on March 20 at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.
Delaware's opponent in the heavyweight "Super Fight" is Cory "Tugboat" Timmerman, who is 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds.
"He's going to want to stand and bang with me. This isn't going to be easy. This is going to be a fight," Delaware, who has performed in over 200 sex scenes since December of 2002, told AVN.com.
Delaware, whose nickname is "The Pornographic Puncher," will enter the mixed martial arts bout at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds.
The fight will be Delaware's first since he defeated Melville Calabaca with a chokehold at the Evolution Combat Challenge on July 19 in Phoenix, improving his career record to 20 wins, 9 losses and 1 draw.
He also beat Don Frye, the former two-time UFC champion, in an exhibition wrestling match in Monterrey, Mexico, on Nov. 15
Delaware, who fought in the UFC in 2000, has been training for the fight since late January with Ken Rose, a former NFL player who is also a Muay Thai kick boxing specialist. He has been doing sex scenes in between training sessions. He is scheduled to perform a scene Saturday in Red Light District's latest edition of Young Tight Latinas and has recently worked for Cherry Boxx Pictures and Jill Kelly Productions.
The fight with Timmerman (11-6), an Arizona resident who is a local fan favorite, is critical in Delaware's attempt to return to the highest level of the sport. If he wins his next two fights, he is in line for an invitation to fight in the Pride Fighting Championship: Bushido in Tokyo, Japan. It is one of the biggest stages for mixed martial arts in the world next to the U.S.-based Ultimate Fighting Championship.
"This is my shot and I'm going after it," he said.
Timmerman has won five of his last seven fights and two in a row this year.
Delaware fought at Rage in the Cage 47 on April 12, 2003, when he suffered an upset loss to Andy Montana. So Arizona fans are familiar with the 29-year-old fighter from Huntington Beach who has 19 knockouts in his six years as a professional.
There are 11 other bouts on the fight card, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. Advanced tickets range from $20-$70 for ringside seats. Tickets are an additional $5 on Fight Day. Call 602-267-1600 for ticket info.
Delaware said he could provide a limited number of free tickets to those in the adult industry that want to attend with an RSVP by Wednesday.
