Delaware Wins Fight in 40 Seconds

Adult performer Dick Delaware stopped his 270-pound opponent Adam Nance in 41 seconds Saturday night in the Pit Fighting Championships, giving him the 26th victory in his eight-year, mixed-martial-arts career.

Delaware, whose real name is Aaron Brink, got his first victory since September of last year, when he knocked out John Mierszwa in a fight in downtown Los Angeles. He fought five times since then, in between a brief retirement. It was also Brink's first fight since an April 2 loss to Eli Joslin in King of the Cage. But since then he has had three scheduled bouts fall through because his opponents backed of the fights, one of whom left the arena only hours before they were scheduled to meet.

On Saturday night at The Ultimate Training Center in Riverside, Brink overcame a shaky beginning to the bout when he struggled to keep his balance and swept his opponent's leg 20 seconds into the confrontation. Once he got Nance to the ground, he started landing big punches and Nance quickly gave Brink his back. The end came soon after that as Brink connected with seven unsanswered blows to the back of Nance's head before the referee halted the action.

"He was already knocked out for the last two punches I landed," Brink said. "I was thinking the fight is over, why are they still letting me hit him? The last three punches I landed was like hitting a piece of steak. When they turned him over he was completely unconscious."

He continued, "This is a way to bring myself back. I’m happy I’m back, the intensity is there."

Brink (26 wins, 18 losses, 1 draw) won't have much time to rest, as he has already agreed to fight unbeaten William Dalton (3-0) next Saturday night at The Grove in Anaheim in a UFC qualifier, and has also accepted an offer to fight heavyweight Sean O'Hare in the K-1 kickboxing show in mid-August at The Bellagio in Las Vegas.

The 6-foot-3 fighter from Huntington Beach entered Saturday's contest at 241 pounds against Nance, a former U.S. marine and professional boxer who is also a jiu-jitsu specialist. Several adult performers were there to support him including Scott Lyons, Jack Venice, Sascha, Dale Jordan and Cassandra Cruz. UFC veteran John Lober worked Brink's corner.

Brink, now represented by Absolute Modeling, started his porn career in December 2002, and has since appeared in over 500 sex scenes working for companies such as Cherry Boxxx, Lethal Hardcore, Anabolic, Red Light District, Hustler Video, Digital Playground and Combat Zone. He was nominated for AVN Best Male Newcomer in 2004.
