Delaware to Fight in King of the Cage

Adult film star Dick Delaware will fight Saturday night in the co-main event of King of the Cage “Execution Day” at the Reno Events Center in Reno, Nev.

The fight will be shown on national pay-per-view on Nov. 11.

Delaware, whose civilian name is Aaron Brink, will meet up-and-coming Muay Thai/jiu-jitsu specialist Richard Montoya in a non-title fight in the light heavyweight division (205 pounds). Lethal Hardcore is sponsoring Delaware, who will wear the company's name on his shorts.

Brink has fought his entire career at heavyweight and will be making his debut at 205 against Montoya (5-1).

The 6-foot-3 native of Huntington Beach has performed in close to 500 sex scenes since December 2002, and recently worked for Lethal Hardcore, Cherry Boxxx and Axel Braun.

Brink (25-13-1) has competed against some of the best in the world during his eight years as a professional. In November of 2000 in Atlantic City, N.J., he fought Andrei Arlovski, who is now the reigning UFC heavyweight champion, in what was Brink’s only shot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, considered “the Super Bowl of mixed-martial-arts” in the U.S. Arlovski, who was also making his debut, submitted Brink in the first round.

Among Brink’s other big-name opponents are current UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (ruled a “no-contest” when Franklin’s foot got caught in the cage), Pride middleweight contender Alistair Overeem and UFC contender Jeremy Horn, who both defeated him.

In his most recent fight on Sept. 10, Brink lost a K-1 qualifying match in the Ring of Fire promotion in Castle Rock, Colo., contested with kick-boxing rules.

Montoya, a world class Muay Thai fighter and a jiu-jitsu brown belt who lives in Reno, will be stepping up in competition to challenge Brink.

“I feel really confident in this fight,” Brink said. “I have a feeling that my opponent took the fight too soon. He didn’t really look to see who I was, and he knew I was coming off a loss. I think he realized it later though because he’s got people investigating me to find out of if I’m training. He's got people calling me and asking, ‘how’s your shape?’ People that I never talk to. I think he realizes he might have made a mistake. Nevertheless, he’s got to fight me now.”

King of the Cage promoter Ted Williams told AVN.com Friday that “it’s a 50-50 match.”

“I couldn’t really predict it, it’s that close,” Williams said. “That’s why we’re putting it on pay-per-view.

“In the [fight] industry, Aaron is considered more of a 50-50 fighter, and his record indicates that. He’s fought some of the best though.

"Recently he’s really dedicated himself to becoming a superstar, and the world is waiting to see. He has the ability.”

Brink two years ago was signed to fight in King of the Cage, which is one of the top promotions in the U.S. after the UFC, but he no-showed because of personal issues.

“I want to come back and prove myself to the promoters. I want to redeem myself to King of the Cage and to Reno against one of their hometown guys,” Brink said. “He’s got a fight on his hands.”
