Deep Star Launches Spanish Adult VOD Service

Deep Star Broadcasting Systems, Inc. has announced the upcoming launch of its second adult video-on-demand service, Spanish language CALIENTE En Demanda.

“CALIENTE En Demanda is now set to launch on a number of MSO’s in August," said John Chambliss, president of Deep Star. "And coupled with its sister platform, HEAT On Demand, will allow affiliates the opportunity to simultaneously offer a broad mix of both English and Spanish language content to their viewers. Additionally, we have created special sixty second, PG rated television spots in both Spanish and English, which MSO’s have begun utilizing to advance-sell and cross-promote both services.”

Chambliss also elaborated on Deep Star’s new support website.

“In late-August, we’ll launch a special website designed to uniquely support both HEAT On Demand and CALIENTE En Demanda. This site will provide many features to acquaint viewers with our current content offerings, as well as future … and with one simple click, it auto-translates everything, including trailers, into either Spanish or English. I might add that this site will specifically ‘support’ our platforms, and not compete with affiliates by selling DVD’s or other products.”

Richard Arnold, CEO of Deep Star explained the benefits CALIENTE En Demanda represents to the company’s growing family of content providers.

“With our unique revenue sharing program, this new service allows our studios and producers the opportunity to enjoy yet another revenue stream - additional funds they will receive with each new service we launch," Arnold said. "This rev share arrangement continues to draw the industry's most talented filmmakers, who we consider to be the ‘life blood’ of both Deep Star and the industry as a whole.”

Bill Furrelle, senior vice president of affiliate sales for Deep Star, translated the company’s programming methodology into a sales perspective.

“CALIENTE En Demanda facilitates a unique bi-lingual offering of the broadest possible mix of high quality programming, and represents yet another compelling reason for MSO’s to carry Deep Star’s services as their primary adult offering," he said.

Furrelle also touched on Deep Star’s “video on demand exclusivity," which he feels is another key to the company’s competitive edge. “Our content is not offered on any linear channels, so affiliates do not find a Deep Star program appearing on other services they may also be carrying, and thus inviting ‘multi-layered exposure’ competing for the same consumer dollar,” he added.
