DCypher, known mostly for his work with the pen as an AVN Award-winning scriptwriter and moderator of Hardcoregossip.com sets his sights with the camera as Madness Pictures' newest director, with two titles already in the can, including Legal Tender 2, which will be released this week.
Andre Madness, Madness Pictures owner and namesake, said he was looking forward to DCypher's line up, “The porn consumer has reached a point where they're looking for something clever and he’s just the guy to do it."
DCypher, who co-wrote (with Michael Raven) the AVN Award-winning screenplay for Breathless in 2003, directed Legal Tender 2. He promises the title, and the rest of the series, will stray from far from the usual porno formula, in fact, he intends of spoofing the porn standards such as the pizza delivery boy.
DCypher has 20 directing credits overall, but hasn’t directed for years, preferring to work in other production roles. “I wanted to focus on helping the people that I worked with make the best movies they could make, instead of trying to compete with them,” he told AVN.com in an email interview.
“Andre Madness saw that I had potential and he put it to use for him. He offered me total control over what I could make inside an acceptable framework and I took the offer.”
DCypher has worked with Madness over the last three years as his production manager, screenwriter and producer while shot videos for Pleasure, Rosebud, Kick Ass Pictures, New Sensations and Video Team.
“We had a really great team. We spent so much time on set they were like a second family,” DCypher said.
DCypher conceived Legal Tender, but Madness directed the first one. Then Madness offered DCypher the series. “He let me take all the initiative and gave me all the support I needed to make it the way I wanted to,” DCypher said. “It was one of the best days of production I have ever seen in the seven years I have been here. Steve Austin kept everything going completely smooth, like clockwork.”
The other title DCypher has already finished for Madness Pictures is a feature starring Ron Jeremy as a genie stuck in bottle granting wishes because of a curse put on him. “Ron was out of control. He was just so funny that it was hard to get anything done,” DCypher said.
