Producer Dave Pounder has been cast in multiple episodes of a new series entitled “Open Call” for The TV Guide Channel.
The first episode, “Open Call: In Search of the Next Donald Trump,” aired last Monday. Pounder made it to the final round only to be cut because “TV Guide simply couldn’t do a pilot around a porn producer.”
“Given the demographic of TV Guide Channel’s viewer base, I wasn’t surprised the producers of the show didn’t want to do an entire pilot around a porn producer; however, by having me on several of their shows as a recurring character is yet another example of a growing acceptance, or perhaps tolerance, of pornography in mainstream circles,” Pounder said.
“Open Call” is a new series that depicts the casting process from the initial casting calls all the way to final selection and production. The winner of each “Open Call” theme has a show pilot designed around them, which could potentially lead to a series on the network.
Pounder is also featured in “Open Call: In Search of the Next Late Night Television Host,” which will air later this month.
