Dane Productions Remains Open

Contrary to an e-mail that went out this morning, Dane Productions Inc. is conducting normal business today at its Chatsworth headquarters and has no plans to shut down.

“We’re doing fine, this is a horrible thing,” Dane Productions Vice President Bob Blisten told AVN.com.

An e-mail that came from Stan Burrdick at [email protected] and presumably went out to Dane’s list of buyers falsely stated: “Dane Productions is going out of business. All product is on sale. Premium title DVDs as low as $4 each. All leftover VHS stock $.50 each. Special offer for those interested in purchasing company. … We must be closed before the end of March 2005.”

“This is totally false,” Blisten said. “We have three new releases in the can ready to come out, and we just bought some scenes from Europe.

“We’re in good shape. We have a warehouse full of product. … This guy knows what he’s doing. He knows who we deal with. I don’t know who this person is or where he comes from, but we wrote back demanding a retraction or we will take legal action.”

Blisten said that business is bustling at Dane, where they are finishing Latina Sobrosas 3 next week and are poised to release Cock-Crazed Latinas, Calendar Girls, Snatch Shot and then Eurotrash 1 in the coming weeks.

He said when he saw the erroneous e-mail that he immediately called Ed Cohen, the owner of Dane.

“He has the office next to mine, and he almost fell out of his chair when he heard this,” Blisten said.
