The fifth annual Cybersocket Web Awards will be held January 5 at Las Vegas club Gipsy.
The awards honor the best lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Web sites. Surfers vote for Web sites in 30 categories nominated for their achievements and innovations in the LGBT Internet market.
Categories include Best AVS Site, Best Adult Gay Mega Site, and Best Adult Novelties Site. In addition, for the first time, this year’s awards will feature an undisclosed number of awards voted upon by 40 industry professionals.
“We’ll be still be giving awards for the best mega site, but what do our peers think is the best mega site, versus what the surfers think,” Cybersocket co-founder Morgan Sommer told AVNOnline.com.
Sites are nominated on the basis of how well they fulfill their advertised missions, and for their usefulness, design, and uniqueness. Votes for the People’s Choice Awards require a valid e-mail address, to eliminate voting engines and make the process more democratic, Sommer said.
