Cybersocket Launches TheGayBoard.com

Gay and lesbian publication Cybersocket has launched their own webmaster board, TheGayBoard.com. The board arrives as a result of a little prodding from their sponsors.

“Some of our sponsors came to us and said we think it’s time for you to do one and if you do, we’ll support you. So that’s how it came about. Our sponsors said we think it’s time,” Cybersocket co-founder Morgan Sommer told AVNOnline.com.

Politics also factored into the equation, as all of Cybersocket’s employees were banned from another gay webmaster board. They will, of course, play a large roll in TheGayBoard.com, which will be “censorship-free” and moderated by Sommer at its outset.

“It’s a natural evolution of what Cybersocket does,” Sommer said. “We’re one of the hubs within the gay b2b business realm. We’re providing a forum for the webmasters that are in communication with us on an ongoing basis.”

TheGayBoard.com has several forums – networking, fluff, content, news/press releases, newbie help, board news and suggestions – and several sponsors. Jumping onboard for the launch were Video Secrets, Bedfellow, AEBN, PrideBucks, Big Cash Society, Epoch, CCBill, CaveCreek Web Hosting, USG-Online, Chi Chi Clicks, AWOLmarines.com and Bionic Pixels.

For sponsors like Bedfellow, TheGayBoard.com is an extension of Cybersocket’s successful gay webmaster parties and the relationships established there.

“It’s not really a place where people come to ask a specific question about how to do this or how to do that, so much as a place where the conversations and relationships that are established at the parties can be maintained in this atmosphere,” Bedfellow owner Karl Edwards told AVNOnline.com. “It’s going to be not only professional, but fun and free of all of this snippiness and whininess that you encounter at other boards. I see this as the place from this point forward where webmasters can come and network.”
