Cyber Charmers Introduces Virtual Hosts

Maryland-based Cyber Charmers has introduced streaming video technology that allows Adult sites to incorporate a free-standing, moving hostess.

The technology uses footage of models recorded in front of green screens, so when they are streamed onto a users computer the desktop background remains entirely intact while the model is on the screen.

Hostesses can be employed either on Web pages as Flash-based applications or outside of a Web page via a downloadable streaming video application. Company executives see a dual purpose for their cyber charmers – as a virtual ad that drives traffic and as entertainment for the end user.

“We think this is an unbelievable service for the industry,” Cyber Charmers CEO Len Ostroff told AVNOnline.com. “Pop-ups, banners – they just can’t drive traffic the way we can.”

While the in-site hostesses are limited to a 30-second on-screen duration, the desktop-based, streaming hostesses can be used to as entertainment, performing a strip tease or sex act. At the conclusion, they can ask the user to click on their virtual image to see more and the user will be redirected to a web site. Since it is streaming video, the desktop-based software – a one-time download at approximately 500K – can also be used for live video chat programs.

“You really get the feel of a one-on-one connection with the talent,” CTO John Henderson said.

Cyber Charmers has ready-made segments available and can shoot specific content with their roster of models, but can also incorporate a specific Web site’s models through partnerships with companies using green screen technology in every major U.S. city, Ostroff said. Cyber Charmers does all hosting for the product and Webmasters can incorporate it via a simple Java script.

“What we’re trying to do is create stupid simplicity for advanced technology,” Ostroff said.
