Coquette Designs Something for Everyone; Including AVN Award Show Hosts

2005 AVN Awards Show co-hosts Savanna Samson and Thea Vidale wore matching outfits designed by Coquette International for their first segment on stage this year’s show, an indication of both the quality of the design and the Canadian maker of lingerie and exotic clubwear's interest in reaching out to the adult industry, according to a company spokesperson.

Samson and Vidale both wore a Coquette design called “The Wench” for their opening segment, a design that both women were pleased with despite having different body types: Samson is a petite woman, whereas Vidale is full-figured.

“It’s a sign of good design when an item can be made for both a petite woman and a larger woman. It means you can take the design, and because it is a good design, you can translate it into a fuller-figured garment,” Cindy Cipriano, a spokesperson for Coquette told AVN.com.

Cipriano says The Wench is one of Coquette’s staple garments and a good representation of the company’s main focus in lingerie design – romantic styles that are suitable for women of all shapes and sizes.

“We’ve got something for everyone really. Our designs are meant for wear on either the street or in the bedroom, something that’s not really being done by anyone else,” Cipriano said. “Besides our main catalog, we also have a costume catalog coming out next month, because role play is a year round activity, not just for Halloween, and we have a full-figured catalog, and a catalog for men, something for everyone.”

The Wench is a lingerie mini made of lycra, a breathable synthetic material that stretches and conforms to the body, and a soft all-over lace material, and is designed to “cinch in on the waist and hide figure flaws as much as possible.”

“We try to make garments that allow women to feel comfortable about their bodies, and that help set the tone for the evening. We want them to feel the mood,” Cipriano said.

All of Vidale’s wardrobe for the entire evening was provided by Coquette. “We’re proud to be able to design outfits that can design the larger woman. Not everyone can do something for larger women,” Cipriano said, noting that Coquette has a catalog dedicated to lingerie for full-figured women.

Vidale and Samson were not the only people on stage at the awards show that were wearing Coquette designs – most of the dancers were garbed in Coquette designs as well. “We had a number of our most popular styles from last year’s catalog on stage. We were very excited about it,” Cipriano said.

For Coquette, the show served as an introduction to the adult industry, a segment they actively began reaching out to over the last year. “The show was a good venue to showcase our items, and a great place to meet people we want to work with in the future.”

According to Cipriano, Coquette intends on announcing a number of partnerships with adult companies over the next year. “Our new catalog is coming out soon and we’ve made it sexier – and that’s the route we’re heading. The adult community is a natural fit for our growth plans.”
