Conservative Group Forces Store to Remove Book

A Waldenbooks store removed a book with a sexually-provocative cover after an attorney from the conservative group American Family Association complained that it was violating the law on displaying sexually explicit material.

Last week, store managers removed The Good Sex Bible from shelves when association attorney Pat Vaughn, who represented a local woman, complained to the store that it was violating the law banning sexually explicit material from being displayed where minors may be present, the Agape Press reported.

The book had been located in a bargain bin in the store’s relationships section where the woman’s child could have seen it, Vaughn claimed.

An official with Borders Group Inc., which owns Waldenbooks, said the Gautier store will restock its relationships section after they assess the issue.
