TLA Video has lassoed one of the legendary names in gay adult entertainment into its video streaming service. Colt Studio Group’s COLT Studio and Buckshot Productions debuted Feb. 1 on TLA On-Demand.
TLA and COLT will present 15 titles from the COLT and Buckshot libraries, including legendary pre-condom titles that have been out of print and unavailable to the buying public for quite some time.
TLA On-Demand will offer COLT and Buckshot’s titles in all three standard video streaming formats—an Internet first for the studios. Customers can enjoy COLT and Buckshot men on their computer screens either by pay-per-minute, streaming rentals, or full-film downloads. No other site offers all three options for COLT Studio Group titles.
The 15 titles showcase the best of COLT Studio and Buckshot Productions from the early 1980s to the early 2000s, but the star attractions are the titles from the studios’ “golden age.” They range from Rip Colt’s exquisite COLT Minute Man Solo Series scenes (Private Party, Minute Man 4-7) to the studios’ initial forays into hardcore man-on-man action (The Company We Keep, Good Hot Stuff, Triple Threat). The casts are led by COLT men who have achieved near-mythic status: Frank Vickers, Jesse Ditmar, Ed Dinakos, Bruno, and Jimmy Pike.
“We are totally thrilled that COLT Studio Group has joined up with TLA On-Demand,” says TLA Gay Adult Division’s managing editor, Erik Schut. “John [Rutherford] and his team have taken the studio and vaulted it into the new millennium. Starting off with 15 titles from the studio’s golden age is like icing on the cake—a “classic taste.” Making them available via all three formats is unprecedented, and I’m certain customers are going to be ecstatic.”
John Rutherford, president and creative director of COLT Studio Group, says, “Erik and the entire team at TLA have been very supportive to all of us here at COLT Studio Group. As the most consistent producers and leaders in all-male high quality product, it was only natural COLT would be partnered with the leaders and most consistent retail providers of gay entertainment on the Internet.”
Launched during spring 2005, TLA On-Demand has grown dramatically in less than a year, garnering an XBiz Award nomination for Video-on-Demand after only six months of operation. TLA On-Demand offers three streaming options for its gay audiences:
Pay-per-minute: Customers pay for the time they watch, either by minute or in a block of time.
Streaming rental: Customers can view a full stream of a film as often as they like for 7 days.
Download: Customers can download a film onto their hard drive and view it for 14 days.
