HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Fans of multi-award-winning, versatile performer Cliff Jensen can now see him on the big screen in RuPaul’s Stop! That! Train!, a campy disaster-comedy set in the future, from the director of 2007’s Hairspray, Adam Shankman, and the crew behind RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Jensen appears in the movie, in theaters now, with Drag Race alumni including Ginger Minj and Jujubee.
Jensen, under his mainstream name Adam Jacob Ranski, worked on principal production for Stop! That! Train! and appeared in one of the scenes. With 15-plus years behind the camera for production companies, Jensen “was clocking 14-plus hours on set every day for the movie,” a rep said. His work on the project was rewarded with a small part in the slapstick feature. Jensen can also be seen in the movie’s trailer.
In Stop! That! Train!, “train stewardesses” Tess (Ginger Minj) and DeeDee (Jujubee), work for luxury train line the Glamazonian Express. “All is well until a catastrophic superstorm threatens to derail the train and crash it directly into Los Angeles. The crew in the coach section has to join forces with the snooty first-class attendants and President Gagwell (RuPaul) to save the day,” a plot description reads.
“RuPaul was unbelievably kind to everyone on set, but exuded confidence and professionalism, while maintaining a level of humble attentiveness, ready to move the project forward,” Jensen said. “Director Adam Shankman was incredible, working nonstop with the team to bring you as many laughs as possible. It was great to be appreciated for my hard work when they asked me to be part of the movie. I was sent to hair, makeup and wardrobe, cast in the movie and appeared in the trailer.”
