Catherine Bosley’s suit against softcore reality-porn studio DreamGirls over the release of WildWetT.com Featuring The Naked News Anchor is still on, sources at DreamGirls confirmed today. Bosely is the ‘naked news anchor’ referred to in the title of the video in question.
The former WKBN news anchor settled with two Internet companies that posted photographs of her stripping in a wet T-shirt contest. Bosley had participated in the contest during a vacation to Key West.
The two companies that settled were My Way and Internet Key Inc., an Internet company the does business under the name Sex Key AVS. Terms of the settlements were not disclosed.
It was photographs that ended up on the Websites of the Internet companies that settled yesterday that led to the widespread knowledge of Bosley’s Key West indiscretion.
Once those photos began to circulate Bosley became an Internet sensation of sorts, leading to Bosley’s resignation from her job of ten years at WKBN as a news anchor in Youngstown, Ohio.
According to sources at DreamGirls, the only video camera allowed inside the bar where the wet T-shirt contest was held belonged to DreamGirls, so unless someone had smuggled a handheld cam inside the bar where the wet T-shirt contest was held, DreamGirls owns the only video footage of Bosley stripping.
DreamGirls and Marvad, an Internet company that licensed the rights to stream the video of Bosley stripping from DreamGirls, are still fighting Bosley in court.
Bosley says she never signed a release. Hayden, DreamGirls’ sales manager, emceed the wet T-shirt contest. Hayden says that Bosley “definitely” signed a release.
“She entered this contest and proceeded to get completely naked,” Hayden told AVN.com in a previous interview. “She made it through all three rounds and she won. The 37-year-old news anchor beat out the spring breakers.”
Hayden declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Yesterday, a story on NewsNet5.com, a Website associated with a television news station in Cleveland, Ohio said that Wetwildt.com was still seeking to have a restraining order preventing them from selling WildWetT.com Featuring The Naked News Anchor.
WildWetT.com is a Website owned and operated by DreamGirls, who released the video in question.
Bosley won an injunction against DreamGirls, preventing the release of the video after she learned that it was coming out. However, the injunction wasn’t filed until after the video was already released, so some copies were already on the market.
DreamGirls can’t fulfill any more orders of the tape until the lawsuit is over.
The footage of Bosley stripping was originally included on a DreamGirls release titled Spring Break 2003, that is no longer available.
