City Code Enforcement officers have halted construction of a proposed strip club, saying its owners did not have proper building permits for the project.
Code Enforcement Officer Peter Wurster said the owners of the proposed Lone Wolf strip club at the former Foster Refrigeration building had begun work on the structure earlier this month, but his department discovered the builders had not filed the proper permits with the city, the Independent reported.
Wurster said that he was told in August by Jim Dinardi, the building’s owner, that a storage business would be moving into the building and met with one of the principals in the business proposing to lease the building. But he then heard rumors that a strip club would be moving into the location instead.
Wurster inspected the building and discovered a stage area and brass poles for exotic dancers along with a bar and seating areas. He said that a place of public assembly like a strip club has stringent set of requirements that includes review by the Planning Commission.
Dinardi said there was more to the story, but would not elaborate.
